The artwork represents a table prepared for guests over dinner. It is an expression of what the youths of the first Intifada were supposed to prepare from kitchen supplies and general usage tools when Israeli forces raid on houses and neighborhood. The instinctive and popular scene represents their right to invent self-defense mechanisms of their own.

“نحن في انتظاركم”

سنعاملكم معاملة الضيوف كونكم ثقيلو الظل ونتوقع زيارتكم المفاجأة .. وقد حضّرنا لكم زجاجات الشراب الذي لا يشرب .. ولفائف الزينة المؤلمة .. وسنفرش لكم الأرض بالبطاطا المحشوّة بالمفاجآت .. وسنرشقكم بالحنّون الثقيل .. لأن كرمنا يفرض علينا ضيافتكم بما تستحقون .. والجود من الموجود …

العمل الفني

تجهيز لتكوين يضم طاولة طعام مستديرة يكسوها شرشف أحمر عليه أربعة زجاجات “تيمبو” مطلية باللون الأحمر، ولفة سلك شائك ايضاُ مطلية باللون الأحمر، وفأس “بلطة” وحجارة “زلط” وحبات بطاطا محشوّة بالمسامير وكرات زجاجية “بنانير” وكوع صوت كلها مطلية باللون الأحمر.

العمل يشبه في المحصلة طاولة سفرة جاهزة لاستقبال ضيف على العشاء مثلاً وهي تعبير عما كان يفترض على شباب مرحلة الانتفاضة الأولى اعداده من ادوات مقاومة مداهمة جنود الاحتلال اليومية للأحياء والبيوت من لوازم المطابخ وادوات الاستخدامات العامة كمظهر فطري وشعبي يعطيهم الحق في ابتكار وسائل الدفاع عن النفس.
