Two contrasting trips, one to a farm in the far north of the Gaza Strip, the other to another farm in the far south, near the Egyptian border. Two unusual trips where we practised measuring space, calculating distances and gauging the horizon, to realise that we live in a large population warehouse. The farms were not on a green agricultural road, but behind the walls of the last houses authorised to be built near the border.

The photos were taken stealthily and surreptitiously so as not to be noticed by the cameras on the airship in the sky or the surveillance towers. The photos are not touristy, they are confused and devoid of colourful details. The photos of the two trips are devoid of group photos, smiles, barbecues, meetings, farewells, walks and picking wild flowers. Seeing the narrow and close borders created confusion for us about understanding distances and borders and living inside a box.

مخزن سكاني / قاب قوسين او أدنى

رحلتين متضادتين احداها الى مزرعة في اقصى شمال قطاع غزة، والأخرى الى مزرعة اخرى اقصى الجنوب مع الحدود المصرية. رحلتين غير عاديتين حيث مارسنا شعور قياس حجم الحيّز وحصر المسافات وقياس الأفق، لندرك اننا نقطن في مخزن كبير للسكان، لم تكن المزرعتين في طريق زراعي اخضر بل كانتا خلف جدران آخر المنازل المصرح ببنائها قرب الحدود.

صور مبنية على منهجية الخلسة والإستراق كي لا تلاحظنا كاميرات المنطاد في السماء او كاميرات ابراج المراقبة، الصور ليست سياحية، حائرة ومجردة من التفاصيل اللونية، صور الرحلتين خلت من الصور الجماعية والإبتسامات والشواء واللقاء والوداع والمشي وقطف الأزهار البرية، مشاهدة الحدود الضيقة والقريبة صنعت اضطراب لدينا حول فهم المسافات والحدود والعيش داخل صندوق.
